Sorry, guys. I know you were all waiting with bated breath for a post yesterday. I was sleepy, so I took a nap after church. Then I made chili. Then I watched the finale of Breaking Amish (still so many unanswered questions...). Then I had a Milky Way ice cream bar. Then I went to bed. With such a busy schedule, I just wasn't able to squeeze in any blogging time.
So, now I get to catch up. Geez, I feel like I'm in college again. But seriously, am I the ONLY person that waited until like 2 hours before a paper was due, and hadn't even opened the book.... so I skimmed the first and last sentence of each chapter and used a lot of really big words to make it sound like I had really put my heart and soul into this paper. Then, I'm literally running, side cramps and all, sweat pouring from my brow, in my fuzzy pajamas and slippers, to the professor's office to drop off the paper with approximately 42 seconds to spare. Yep, that's what I feel like today. Anyway... I clearly stayed up way too late (11:00 pm... I'm old) with my formerly Amish posse. Moving along...
Day 11 - Pajamas
My favorite items of clothing in my wardrobe consist of all things comfortable, cotton, and fleece. I really like pajamas. If I could wear pajamas every single day of my life to work, church, and all possible functions and outings, it would be my "outfit" of choice. After I get home from work and let Mocha outside to "do her thing," literally the next thing I do - every single day - is go and put my pajamas on. My evening is then complete.

And, I'm not partial to any one particular style or brand of pajamas. You would think that due to my obsession with "evening attire," I would tend to be a bit of a pajama snob. But, I'm not. My pajama wardrobe consists of a vast variety of items in many colors, patterns, and textures. Superman cotton pajama pants. The all-too-famous cheetah onesie. Plenty of cotton shorts. A Batman t-shirt. Fleece pants with frogs and flowers. Pink fleece tops. LOTS AND LOTS of really random pj bottoms with various characters such as beavers, cheetahs, zebras, more frogs, fish, and hearts. I have a sleep shirt that involves a beaver with a Justin Bieber hair-do. It's pretty fantastic. One of my many aspirations in life is to accumulate as many fun pajamas as possible. Currently, over half of my GINORMOUS 5 drawer dresser is full of pajama-related attire.
Fun fact - this is also my mother-in-laws favorite "item" of clothing. I mean, not the cheetah onesie or Justin Beaver tee, but pajamas in general. Todd certainly married his mother when it comes to comfort and style. It makes it super easy to buy her birthday and Christmas presents... pajamas are always a win. Every. Time.
So, on an extremely personal and emotional level, I would really love to give a shout-out to the inventor of pajamas. I have no idea who you are. I have no idea when you had this genius, brilliant of idea. There are so many questions I would have loved to ask you, like, "When did you decide sleeping in burlap cloth was just a little too scratchy to deal with?" and "Did you own a camel?" and "Did you ever wish that you were some kind of animal, like a squirrel or a spider or a hippopotamus or a liger?" I'm pretty sure you're dead now. And I'm sorry we never got to meet in person. Maybe in heaven. I hope you weren't a horrific, murderous sinner because that's just no fun at all, and I'm pretty sure we'd never have a chance of chatting it up in that big, deluxe apartment in the sky. But, I'd love to give you a great big bear hug and tell you just how much pajamas have changed my life.
Also, just in case you would be inclined to purchase a pair of pajamas for me... at any time, any holiday, or just because you think I'm awesome, I've put together a very well thought-out pajama wish list here. Prepare to be amazed.
